Artist Honored

February 27, 2015

The Cedar Falls Community Foundation Executive Committee honored artist Jennifer Jones Ruiz with a check presentation ceremony at their February 26th meeting.  Jones Ruiz, a freelance graphic artist and floral designer, designed the Cedar Falls Community Foundation’s new logo.

Board President Russ Curtis noted that, “The Foundation’s Public Relations Committee received designs entries from as far away as Germany.  The Committee was very pleased with the response to the logo contest, and delighted that the winning entry was received from a Cedar Valley artist.”

The new logo is a colorful, modern design that incorporates elements of the Foundation’s first logo with vibrant colors.  Judith Harrington, chair of the Public Relations Committee, noted that the colorful new logo emitted a positive energy that reflected the exciting growth the Cedar Falls Community Foundation is experiencing.  Harrington said, “The Foundation, which has been quietly active in Cedar Falls for well over thirty years, is regularly contacted by new donors who want to leave a lasting legacy of support for a variety of local organizations.  These individuals are going to make a profound difference for Cedar Falls residents for many decades to come.”
