CEDAR FALLS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES FEBRUARY GRANTS

The Cedar Falls Community Foundation, the leading philanthropic organization in Cedar Falls, Iowa, approved several grants for the benefit of the citizens of Cedar Falls at its February Executive Committee Board meeting. The Cedar Falls Community Foundation uses the resources entrusted to its stewardship to support projects that enhance the community’s quality of life through cultural, scholarly, recreational, literary, and artistic endeavors. The Cedar Falls Community Foundation encourages community philanthropy and collaboration.

Three grants were made to City of Cedar Falls projects. Funds were granted from the Peter Melendy Park Fund for future park improvements after the levee work has been completed in 2017; from the Cedar Falls Trail Signage Fund to help pay for “Blue Zones” signs that will be placed along the recreation trails in Cedar Falls during Spring/Summer 2016; and from the Police Body Cameras Fund for police body cameras.

Funds were granted to the Vocal Museum Program at Cedar Falls High School to purchase two electronic pianos and a djembe for the vocal music department.

These grants represented the balance in each of these Funds, which were subsequently closed. The Cedar Falls Community Foundation accepts and manages estate gifts and donations to fulfill donor wishes. The Cedar Falls Community Foundation recognizes that its donors are interested in and committed to enhancing the community of Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Foundation’s asset development plan is predicated upon the offer to assist prospective donors with achieving their charitable legacy.
