CEDAR FALLS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION APPROVES GRANT TO WATERLOO SCHOOLS FOUNDATION

The Cedar Falls Community Foundation has approved a recommendation from the Bunger Family Foundation, a component fund of the Foundation, to grant $10,000 to the Waterloo Schools Foundation for the purpose of establishing a new fund. The Bunger Endowment Fund with the Waterloo Schools Foundation will honor Sid and Kathy Bunger by providing students and teachers in the Waterloo Community School District much needed financial resources that go beyond what tax dollars provide. This spring, the Bunger Endowment Fund will sponsor one of the organization’s Young Scholars Grants, a student grant program aimed to support students’ academic interests outside of the classroom.

On April 13, 2016, Cedar Falls Community Foundation Director Cynthia Sweet joined Shannon and Bob Closson at a meeting of the Waterloo Schools Foundation to present the check to Emily Hanson, Director of the Waterloo Schools Foundation.
