New Board Member Elected to nationally accredited Cedar Falls Community Foundation

The Cedar Falls Community Foundation, a nationally accredited community foundation, elected Bill Calhoun to the Board of Directors at its October 26, 2017, meeting.

Calhoun recently retired from the University of Northern Iowa where he worked for 34 years, the last sixteen as Vice President for University Advancement and President of the UNI Foundation. Calhoun has served the Cedar Falls and Greater Cedar Valley Chambers of Commerce and is affiliated with the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. He currently serves as a fundraising consultant to several non-profit organizations. Calhoun and his wife, Kathy, have two sons.

Calhoun said, “I hope my experiences in managing UNI’s Advancement Division and the UNI Foundation might be useful to the Cedar Falls Community Foundation. I would like to continue to help make a difference in the community.”

Russell Curtis, President of the Cedar Falls Community Foundation Board, commented, “Bill’s work at the UNI Foundation provided experiences similar to the work of the Cedar Falls Community Foundation. Bill is joining the Board just as we are completing a strategic planning process, and we expect his experience in managing the UNI Foundation will be invaluable as the Cedar Falls Community Foundation continues to grow.”

In addition to President Curtis, other members of the Board of Directors of the Cedar Falls Community Foundation are Craig Johnson (Vice President), Judith Harrington (Secretary), Eryn Reilly (Treasurer), Jan Andersen, Shannon Closson, Ryan Cose, Dave Deaver, Robert Hardman, Bill Kahler, Ty Kimble, Joanne Latta-Reeves, John Lehman, Carol Lilly, Shirley Merner, Tom Paulsen, Mark Ripplinger, and Jennifer Rodenbeck. Emeritus Board members are Robert Beach, Robert Dieter, and Miller Roskamp.
