Cedar Falls Community Foundation invites community participation in growth

July 26, 2018

The Cedar Falls Community Foundation, a nationally accredited community foundation established in 1977, has for decades played a behind-the-scenes role in Cedar Falls, providing investment management services for nonprofits, and grant funding for both city amenities and area non-profits.   The Foundation now seeks to raise awareness of its role in the community and invites broad participation in growing its impact.

The Foundation is committed to encouraging and inspiring greater levels of philanthropy on behalf of Cedar Falls, diversifying the funds available through the Foundation, and increasing the impact of the Foundation’s grants, awards, and services, allowing the Foundation to invest in a wider range of community enhancements, including scholarships and education, health and wellness, family issues, and more.

In order to achieve these goals, the Foundation is seeking support from community members to develop the funds needed to grow the Foundation. The Foundation seeks to raise $300,000 through the development of a Founders Club, consisting of 100 Founders who will pledge a donation of $1,000 per year for three years.  The Founders Club will provide the needed resources to expand the Foundation’s ability to impact the community’s future.

The Founders Club will support the Cedar Falls Community Foundation’s efforts to make a positive philanthropic difference in Cedar Falls.  Members of the Founders Club will be recognized at the annual Community Builder Celebration, Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 1-3 p.m. at Windridge, Western Home Communities.   Also recognized during the event will be donors and recipients of the 2018 Melendy Spirit Award.

The Cedar Falls Community Foundation strives to be a champion of local philanthropy and a trusted, empowering partner to donors who are passionate about enriching the community of Cedar Falls.  The Cedar Falls Community Foundation inspires and connects individuals, families, and organizations to enhance Cedar Falls, support non-profits, elevate educational opportunities, and build legacies through philanthropy.

Community members interested in learning more about becoming a Founder for the Cedar Falls Community Foundation, are invited to contact the Foundation at CFCF@cfu.net or 319-243-9170.
