The Streeter Family

The Streeter Family was recognized for multiple generations of one family who have positively impacted Cedar Falls. Zimri and Lucinda Dean Streeter settled in Cedar Falls in 1852 and they and their descendants positively impacted Cedar Falls through contributions in the areas of politics, arts and culture, professional life, development of amenities, and service to the City. Short biographies of selected individuals from three generations of this family are shared on the flier, including Zimri Streeter, James Wareham Streeter, Anna Streeter Wood, Bess Streeter Aldrich, Clark Streeter, James Ford, and Gaylord Ford. Melinda (Mel) Petersen Hanlon, granddaughter of Clark Streeter, long time Cedar Falls City Engineer, accepted the award on behalf of her family.

Cedar Falls Community Foundation Grants Made to Local Organizations

The Cedar Falls Community Foundation Board of Directors has approved grants to five area nonprofits totaling $33,250.00. Applications were accepted April through June to the Rownd Trust and the Diamond Arts and History Fund, through the Community Foundation’s online application portal at www.cf-communityfoundation.org The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra will receive $2,500 from the Diamond Arts
