Cedar Falls Community Foundation Grants Made to Local Childcare Providers
March 28, 2022
September 2021
The Cedar Falls Community Foundation has awarded grants from our Children and Families Fund to five local childcare providers totaling just over $10,000! We are thankful for the gifts from our donors for making it possible for us to support children in Cedar Falls.
The grant funds will be used for a variety of projects locally. Learn and Play Preschool and Daycare received funds to resurface and enlarge their playground space. Community United Childcare Centers-Valley Park will use the funds to assist in the repair of a water main break. Dream Big Childcare will be purchasing a table and materials to offer sensory play to their children. A to Z Learning Center & Daycare has received funds to help cover the cost of mats and cots for the children to rest on. And Rising Star Educational Childcare will use the funds to purchase outdoor play equipment and desks for their children to use.
The Cedar Falls Community Foundation worked closely with Northeast Iowa Childcare Resource and Referral for their expertise and guidance in how we could make an impact on childcare in Cedar Falls. The Cedar Falls Community Foundation has committed to offering these grants in the next two years and will be accepting grant applications again in the spring.
