PUTTING THE PLAN INTO ACTION
During 2018 the Cedar Falls Community Foundation Board of Directors focused on implanting their new strategic plan. Committees identified goals and objectives that fell under their purview and rolled up their sleeves.
The Public Relations Committee, led by Judith Harrington, worked tirelessly all year. This Committee began by creating a one page annual report infographic that the City graciously allowed us to share in the April 2018 issue of Currents. The committee developed a 2-minute video and a 30-second television ad to assist in raising awareness of the Cedar Falls Community Foundation and the many ways the Foundation benefits and supports Cedar Falls. Participation by board members and community members enhanced both video projects.
Throughout the year, the Public Relations Committee worked closely with the Stakeholder Relations Committee, chaired by Dave Deaver, to develop printed pieces and activities to support the newly-formed Founders Club, and highlight the Foundation’s desire to work with donors to achieve their philanthropic goals and legacy. In July 2018 the Stakeholder Relations Committee kicked off their campaign to identify one hundred Founders to support Foundation capacity building activities and in December celebrated the progress made in the first six months of this campaign.
The Public Relations Committee provided an opportunity for the Board, stakeholders, Founders, donors, and honorees to gather at the September Community Builder Celebration, at which the Sturgis Falls Celebration and the Streeter family were recognized for their service to and impact on Cedar Falls.
The Cedar Falls Community Foundation exists because of the vision and generosity of donors inspired to leave a lasting legacy. It is an honor to serve them.
