Contributing to the Cedar Falls Community Foundation is an excellent way to positively impact the future quality of life in Cedar Falls. You may establish a donor designated endowment that will be managed according to your wishes while leaving a lasting impression and impact on future generations. You should consult with your personal tax advisor, accountant or attorney and the Cedar Falls Community Foundation to learn about the many opportunities that are available.
Individuals or groups wishing to establish a fund to complete a short term project for the benefit of the community should contact the CFCF. There are several benefits to having the CFCF manage funds for projects where funds will be raised and expended in less than one or two years. Contact information is available under “Contact” on this home page.
The Rownd Trust was established in 1967 under the Will of Ella C. Rownd as a memorial to herself, her husband, C.A. Rownd, and their son, Fred Rownd. The Will provided as follows: “I do give, devise and bequeath said property to my Trustees…who shall, in their sound discretion, give the same to one or more educational, charitable or benevolent institutions, to be selected by said Trustees, or to be given or used for any other purpose for the general public in this vicinity as designated by said Trustees.”
The administration of the Rownd Trust was placed under the auspices of the Cedar Falls Community Foundation in 1999. The assets of the Rownd Trust have been used to make significant contributions to community capital projects within the City of Cedar Falls.
For a list of projects supported by the Rownd Trust see Fund Families on the menu bar above, then go to "CFCF ENdowed Funds" and scroll down to "Ella C. Rownd Trust."
